Translation PC software Polish, French
We have been dealing with software localisation of Windows programs since our establishment. Our Moscow office worked closely with the first PC pioneers in Russia in the mid-90s, who translated the first DOS and Windows operating systems into Russian. The current head of the office, Mr. Alexandre Nefedov, personally translated such programs from English into Russian as Symantec software (Norton Commander, etc.) in the 90's, as well as participated in the localisation of Intel and Microsoft software, but already in the translation into German.
Software localisation for Windows PC
Greek, Russian and Chinese, like German, Spanish, Polish or French, are among the languages for which fixed standards apply to the selection of terminology. Since official Microsoft glossaries are publicly available to everyone, translating standard software has become an easy task.
The peculiarity of our translation of software is that we rarely translate general and common programs for the ordinary Windows user, but special subject-specific software of our clients from the industry.
Such as software for battery dealers, printer dealers, spare parts dealers, or PC programs for construction companies who plan their projects on the computer first.
Software for software translation
Gone are the days when we used home-made programs for software string translation. Components of modern PC software can be conveniently translated using CAT tools. In our translation agency we use SDL Trados or Passolo for this purpose.
It is a well-known fact that most of the programs in the world are created in English, therefore the number of translation projects from English in our translation agency is significantly higher than from German.
Among the largest software localisation projects of recent times we can mention the translation into Russian of the well-known communication program VooV Meeting of the Chinese company Tencent.
