Translations medical technology

Translations on the subject of medical technology are among the most complicated and rightly so, as every translator knows. At the same time, they require great attention and responsibility, because the wrong translation can cost human life. No wonder that not every translator wants to or is able to deal with it, the responsibility is too great. We are not afraid of this.

Who translates documentation for us

All the more gratifying is the fact that our translations into Russian, French, Spanish, Polish, Czech, whether from German or English, have been appreciated as excellent by all our end customers. For this reason, when translating medical technology, we use not only professional translators who have been dealing with the subject for years, but also external proofreaders who know the subject very well. These are usually medical specialists who operate this technology in their work in hospitals. Therefore, no one knows these devices better than they do. Or sometimes we do it differently: the translations are done by doctors and the proofreaders take care of the linguistic side of the translation.

More and more doctors translate with us

Technology is becoming more and more complicated over the years, so in many cases we no longer rely on specialist translators with knowledge of medical technology, as was the case for a very long time, but on medical specialists with a very good knowledge of English and German. These are the doctors who use this technology in practice, and no one knows it as well as these specialists. Also, a proofreader always checks the documentation translated in this way and takes care of linguistic subtleties.

Thanks to our vast and long experience in the field of medical technology, we are more and more often hired by other translation agencies or directly by manufacturers of this technology as proofreaders to check their own translations. We proofread any documentation, we are familiar with all subjects: from anesthesia to central sterilization.

We know the subject

We have been performing medical technology translations since 2001, the year we were founded. For a long time, our main subject was translations from English of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) operating manuals. In recent years we have translated many operating manuals on the following subjects:

- Radiotherapy
- Ultrasound surgery
- High-frequency surgery
- Anesthesia equipment
- Anesthesia workstations
- Respirators
- Dialysis machines

Our important helpers

As with other translations, we actively use CAT tools for all translations: mostly SDL Trados Studio Professional, Across and memoQ. This not only reduces costs, which every customer is happy about, but also ensures consistency of the terminology used. This is especially important in the case of translations of user manuals, which differ only partially from each other. And, as already mentioned, each translation is checked by one of the proofreaders, at no extra cost to the client.
