Translations plant engineering

Over the last 15 years, our translation agency has implemented several large-scale projects involving the translation of documentation of complete newly-built plants in Russia and other countries. On some translations into Russian (German-Russian and English-Russian) our translation agency has worked continuously for months. Since practically every plant is unique, we cannot perform these translations as if on an assembly line. Each order is different and requires maximum effort on our part.

Plants of our European customers

Among them are several plants in Russia from various industries, newly built or rebuilt by companies from Germany and Austria, such as for wood processing, environmental protection, metallurgy or water treatment. Manufacturers of energy plants are also our long-standing customers. In addition to traditional plants, the focus in recent years has been on the construction of solar plants, where German companies are leaders.

Major projects have priority

Such translations have priority for us and the best forces of our translation agency are always used for this purpose. Usually 3-4 translators and a proofreader work together on the project, depending on the volume and delivery deadlines. A project manager also accompanies such a project and always acts as a link between the client and the assigned translators. We have never delivered a translation late, even if it required overtime and weekend work.

We are always there for our clients

Even after the project is completed, the same translators are responsible for all updates, additions and changes to the documentation for years afterwards. This guarantees consistency of terminology, i.e. also high quality of the whole documentation.

Translations into other languages are also possible

Thanks to the expansion of our language combinations to include Eastern European languages, in recent years we have been receiving orders for other languages as well: Hungarian, Turkish, Romanian, Lithuanian, Czech. Translations into Western European languages are also possible through our partner.

Particularities of translation in plant construction

A decisive factor in the construction of plants for a successful project is scheduling. The rough planning of the project results in the detailed planning. This is done according to the "top-down" principle, i.e. all deadlines and activities of the project are refined step by step. This sometimes causes initial problems for the translator when a finished translation is still to be changed. We master this without any problems. Here we are helped by CAT tools such as Trados or Across, thanks to which all changes and additions are quickly processed without having to re-do the translation or search for changes manually.

Translation must also be planned for

At the same time, it must be taken into account that internal and external project participants should be involved in planning the translation, which should run as parallel as possible, in good time, thus reserving capacities that are not time-critical. Despite careful pre-planning, frequent deviations occur, which require constant updating of the schedule. For this reason, the responsible translator in our office always remains on standby. It makes sense to consult with the specialist departments in order to be able to classify the change in terms of deadlines. If the deadlines are not met, the final deadline will be exceeded. So that the whole project does not then expect the finished translation of the documentation, we attach great importance to working as much as possible in parallel with running processes. We have learned this well in many years of working on such projects.
